Itinerary
Day 1, Sun: USA / Warsaw - evening departure from New York(JFK) to Warsaw.
Day 2, Mon : Warsaw - Arrival at Warsaw airport - transfer to your hotel. Tour of Warsaw including the area of the former Jewish district and sites associated with Ghetto Uprising of 1943, the Memorial Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto designed by Nathan Rapport, the Judenrat Building, Anielewicz's bunker and Umschlag Platz. Continue to Jewish Cementery and the rebuilt Nozyk Synagogue in the heart of the prewar Jewish district.
Day 3, Tue : Warsaw - Entire day devoted to optional tours.
- Whole day trip to Treblinka and Tykocin. Visit the site of the former Nazi death camp where 800,000 Jews were killed, now a monument-mausoleum and symbolic cementary. Continue to Tykocin to visit an early Baroque synagogue built in 1642 (rebuilt 1974-1978).
- Whole-day trip to Lublin. City tour with Jewish interest including cemetery with graves of well-known rabbis Salomon Lurlaa(Maharshal) and Meier Lublin(Maharam), the Talmudic Academy(Yeshiva) and the site of synagogue. Visit Majdanek, a former Nazi concentration camp, the site of killing of 250,000 Jews from Warsaw and Lublin Ghettos.
- For those not participating in optional tours, the entire day is free for private exploration.
- Day 4, Wed : Warsaw / Krakow - Early morning transfer to rail station for the express train to Krakow (2.5 hours). After transfer, check-in at hotel. Balance of the day free for private activities.
- Optional walking tour of historic Krakow including Old Market Square, Cloth Hall and Barbican.
- Option tour, "Oscar Schindler's Steps": visit sights portrayed in the famous Spielberg epic movie.
